It is a habbit in Greece in a period about 2 months before the Easterthose masque parties.There are happening more such a masque parties in the whole country.It is a habbit that is coming back from the ancient years that were happening in honor of the god Dionysos,the god of wine and partying.Nowadays is called Apokries and you can connect with the masque parades that are happening in Venice,in Rio de Janeiro,in Koln, and as i imagine in more places around the world.Nothing to do with the american Halloween that is happening in November,i think.
Masque parades are taking place in many places in Greece but the most famous is in Patra,in the west part of the country,that are participaying like 50000 masquerades,divided in groups that have different kind of subjects.
The biggest masque parade in Crete is happening in Rethimnon,about 70 km west from Hersonissos,with 10000 masqueraded people about.

Our dream is to make in Hersonissos such a masque parade in the begging or in the end of the season.I hope we give it a chance...
